ELIZABETH YODER, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®

Family Financial Empowerment Advisor

Liz graduated from Loyola College of Maryland with a BA in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. She moved into a L’Arche home, where she was a caregiver and community member with four adults with Intellectual and Development Disabilities (IDD) and four other caregivers. Liz spent her time in the community building relationships and discerning how to make the IDD community her life’s focus. As a fly on the wall at national ARC and NDSS conferences, Liz became determined to work for families and individuals who were often scared to save too much or earn too much to disqualify them for government benefits. Not enough professionals were able to empower the families and individuals to live up to their full potential. Liz’s focus turned to financial planning as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional.

Liz brings her clients’ perspectives to Beyond Impact. Liz works with Beyond Impact to ensure institutions develop client-centered materials that are clear to understand and accessible, removing the barriers for individuals to make financial decisions.

Her work enables employees to feel safe to disclose their, or their loved one's disability or neurodiversity. Having disability-led financial products in your corporate benefits package is one of the lowest hanging fruits in the diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility and justice movement.

Liz lives in Anne Arundel County, Maryland with her husband, Jesse, son, Aaron, Bumblebee the Bichon, and a handful of chickens. She sings with the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis Choir and is slowly learning to play the cello. She dreams of being a better agriculturist.
